to get around aligning the polarities, you could mix some iron shavings in with the plaster for the bricks you intend to have sticking to the magnet. just an idea i had...-Klingbeil-

If you've got some silicone you could maybe use a drill bit on a low setting and some water to make a suitably sized hole for the magnets then cast it a couple of times, saving you having to drill it...
